Suite: "Henry V" at the Globe Playhouse

Blogger Ref  https://www.youtube.com/Searle8

The following extracts come from the Henry V film of 1944 with music composed by William Walton............

"...................Overture - The Globe Playhouse: Springing from expectant stillness, fanfares, drumming and vigorous, lusciously scored dancing with bags of “period” harmonies conjure the cheerful crowds rowdily assembling for the performance...."

In Extract One we hear near the end a Renaissance Concert sounding like a Renaissance Concert at the Globe Playhouse. The players can actually be seen.

In Extract Two we hear near the beginning of the same piece above..but using "modern" orchestration...

For those interested there is a page on this blog on which Walton's used the Agincourt Carol as a basis for "his composition."
